Tikta Ghrita is translated as “Bitter Ghee”. The bitter taste in Ayurveda is said to be cooling, cleansing, reducing, antimicrobial and  anti-inflammatory. This herb-infused ghee is highly revered for its ability to help improve liver function, cleanse the blood, beautify the complexion, balance hormones, and detoxify the deep tissues of the body. This traditional medicine is commonly used to aid in cleansing therapies, although it can also be suitable for daily use.

I love this very good tikta ghrita. It works very good for pitta imbalances, and acne

I bought this while on a cleanse and had some left over, so now I’m using it every morning as a sort of coffee substitute. Ok, nothing like coffee really, but upon rising I generally drink about 16 oz of warm/hot water and then do some light yoga. Afterwards, as soon as I have the first pang of hunger, I take 1/2 t of the bitter ghee in half cup of warm/hot water. I really like it! I feel like the bitter gets my liver going like coffee would. Then I eat breakfast about 15-30 minutes later. The description says its tri-dosha. I am a pitta-vata (with primarily pitta issues) I have been taking it all winter. (in Canada) It seems to be going well!
